We do that, too.

What else can you do? Well, you can choose to buy things with less packaging, where there's a choice. The amount of 'security' packaging around goods these days is a disgrace.

Also see what you can find made from recycled and biodegradable plastic. You can even buy dog waste 'pick-up' bags of biodegradable plastic these days! :)Jayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00496924033221866102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4081747367147604551.post-70062067551545034102009-05-06T17:15:00.000-04:002009-05-06T17:15:00.000-04:00We used to travel from our island to the shops in ...We used to travel from our island to the shops in an open boat with an outboard motor. On one occasion a piece of plastic became wrapped round our propeller and stopped the motor - quite unpleasant! Here in Ireland we have to pay a levy on any plastic carrier bag we buy in a shop. Many of us carry our own shopping bags again, just like in the old days.

Thanks for participating.Dragonstarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05935435587527038459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4081747367147604551.post-68578395197666275332009-05-06T13:53:00.000-04:002009-05-06T13:53:00.000-04:00I read about plastic in the ocean and the danger t...I read about plastic in the ocean and the danger to sealife, it is very sad. Before the war we had no recycling problems: it was done automatically. There were rag-and-bone men and old-clothes men. Now we have containers for paper, clothes and bottles, but still nothing for plastic in my country.Reader Wilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06384603525251159272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4081747367147604551.post-56872348042724027312009-05-05T23:58:00.000-04:002009-05-05T23:58:00.000-04:00Good post!
